If there is something going on that is conceivably a play.. I dont "gotcha" the catcher for reacting.

If the catcher goofs up and throws to 1B in celebration, thats exactly what the rule is for.. sending it around the horn on less than 3K.

Thanks for the info-makes it much more clear to me. Did you tell the catcher, "Here's your sign?"

Here's something else for y'all to ponder...

For those who said they would call it, assuming it's the same type of game situation (i.e.: semi final game, loser goes home, etc)...

Does the age level of the team matter? Would it matter that it was a 12U vs. 18U? Would you call the same thing at each age level? Would you give a break to the 12U, but not the 18U?

Just curious...

TB: I dont give much break regardless of level. I believe doing so before nationals causes them trouble as they progress towards nationals and potentially at nationals.

Rec league is the only place I may fudge it. I willy nilly my way through and pretty much run much differently situation by situation. Hell I even wear my black shirt sometimes.
