Interference or general play

I managed to watch Baseball NY v Boston the other day and saw a runner from 1st to secondrun in to the fielder and also lowered his shoulder .
The throw was still made for the out at 1st .
Same play in softball .
I would have had dead ball , out on the runner and out on the batter-runner with an ejection for the runner .
Had a couple of softball friends around at the time and they saw the same thing with the same result except on went that the contact wasnt malicious enough for an ejection .
Any other views .

MLB has a completely different philosophy regarding contact between runners and fielders than does softball. One is adult professional athletes; the other is amateur youth players or adult players who have regular jobs to go to.

Yes I know that
What I was getting at was just transfer that play to softball and what do we have .
For discussion on play not philosophy of the game .
