For those of you who don't get over to the "e" board very often, this question was actually posted over there... (I've strung together two posts to set the situation, and then the question...)

R1 on first base with no outs. Potential double play ground ball to F4 who tosses to F6 for 1st out. R1 is still about 10-15 feet from 2nd base and too early to slide. R1 begins to slow down but stays in the base path and does not veer one way or the other. ... What if F6 throws the ball directly toward F3 and the ball hits R1 in the head. Is that interference?

I kind of liked Mike's answer of the lawsuit and giving the injured party his card for testimony.

No, throwing the ball to F3 and hitting R1 is not interference ...nor are the actions of the runner.
