From the Dugout

LL One Man Mechanic

Close play at 1B Blue calls out

Both Coaches in boxes and several girls in DO
All of a sudden I hear a very loud "Bullcrap"

I don't know which girl said it.

I walked over to the DO and told the girls, "I don't put up with that."
Went back to the plate w/o any more problems (except coach who didn't understand int posted in another thread).

Not seeing exactly who did it, is there a better way to handle stuff like this. Should I have gone to the coach instead of the DO? It was one of those heat of the moment deals.

You're human just like anyone else. Next time it happens and you're still not sure then you hold the coach respondsible for the behavior of (his or her's)D/O. That could be a warning or ejection.

And not "I don't put up with that", it's "that's not allowed" or "coach, they can't say that".

"Heat of the moment" or "Heat of the game" is a weak individual's excuse for not being able to control oneself.

But "bullcrap"? I would say turn down the volume and play ball.

Bullcrap can be said on network TV, can't it? Any of Carlin's 7 words needs to be addressed - but for everything else put away the rabbit ears.

Are you sure the player wasn't talking to her parents?

In this day and age, I think that at least two of those seven words would be allowable, even. They would be, if you know them in order, number two and number seven.

I like #7. Sounds like a snack. Comes in corn, tater or cheese.

Who cares what list it's on or certainly not whether it can be said on that soft-porn source referred to as TV, network or not. If it's degrading or insulting, it is unacceptable, regardless of euphenisms. Don't call me the language police, but of you tell me a call is BS or BC, it's the same thing.
