Another coach attire question
I'm know this has been discussed before but I couldn't find the answer I was looking for in the 'search' section. What is the NFHS rule on coach attire?
I am a volleyball coach and official and just came from a softball game where some of the girls on my team were competing. I sat for an inning or so with one of the parents and she said that, prior to the start of the game, the plate umpire made the home coach change out of the khaki slacks he was wearing (the team colors were navy blue and white, with navy being the predominant color). She asked me if there was any rule in volleyball concerning coach's attire (there isn't). But I told her that I was pretty sure there was one in softball, however I couldn't say what it was. If you can help, I'll send her the info (and maybe I should send it to the coach ). |

Khaki is legal.
Rule 3, Sec 5, Art 3 says in part, "the coach shall be attired in... school colors or colors of khaki, black, white or gray. Cut-offs or any type of jeans are prohibited."
