A game Friday night got me thinking about this.

In one game (12U) I had:

1. IP for being outside the 24"
2. Catcher's obstruction
3. 2nd catcher's obstruction (same catcher, 2 innings later)
4. Double pick-off to end the inning (catcher gets R1 off 3rd; R3 watching the show too long gets picked off by F5 to F3.)

In a HS game a couple of years ago, I had
interference & obstruction,
catcher's obstruction,
an uncaught IF that had 2 runs score,
an illegal pitch for a sidearm delivery

Stuff happens when they're young teams or at least one team is pretty bad.

Game yesterday - 18U AFA.

2 OBS same catcher - back to back plays.
Runner interference between 1st & 2nd.
Runner leaving early.
Coach interference - stopping player rounding 3rd.
And with bases loaded - 1 out ground ball to 3rd, who
fires to catcher, who is standing 1 foot in front of
HP and throws to 1st, where no one is covering.
Escaped ITB on this play.

Am I reading this right - no outs on the play?

Tom,

That is correct. No out was recorded on this play. These
were 18U teams and playing late on Sunday. IOW's supposedly
couple of the best teams left. Two of the final 8 teams standing.

About 6 years ago, I was calling a PONY qualifier. Age was 14-U (Pony age group).

The game went 11 innings, 3 hours and a handful of minutes. In the game, I had

1) OBS
2) Runner interference
3) Catcher's obstruction
4) Batter's interference
5) BR out for running out of the running land and getting hit by the thrown ball
6) Player ejection
7) Player disqualified
8) Defensive OF throwing a glove and hitting a fly ball with it.
9) Blocked ball when the on-deck batter kicked up a overthrown ball away from the catcher who was pursuing it.
10) Unreported sub
11) Illegal sub
12) 2 protests, both overruled

I was scheduled 2 games that night. This was the 1st one. Most of the other fields were through and the umps were coming up to give me a hard time about not being through with the first one yet. I lost the 2nd game, needless to say.

When I got home, I just pulled out the rule book to see if maybe, just possible there was a rule I didn't enforce in this game. It certainly kept me on my toes!
