We are about to have our annual ASA clinic and registration in a couple of weeks.

Our local UIC is charging $60.00

I am curious what other areas charge for registration?

I'm out of District 12 in Stephenville. They charge $25.00 for the ASA registration. A lot of the UIC's charge $25-$35 to be part of their group. Which is why I choose to stay outside their group. There are a lot of groups that call and ask if I'm available. I don't see any reason to pay the entry charge, then pay a game fee, and also watch them charge the associations or tournament director for a scheduling fee. I know a lot of work is involved getting a lot of individuals together for games but, hey, if you don't like the responsibility, there's no reason to charge the blues more. I call for the fun of it and enjoyment of the game. I don't need to support someone who does it for a second job.

Here in Omaha, we go under the Metro Omaha Softball Association. They charge us $60, including the ASA fee. If we want to work USSSA, we pay another $30 on top. Metro Omaha softball does all the scheduling of leagues and umpires for the City of Omaha softball rec program. Not a bad price, because we pay for a staff of UIC and Deputy UIC's who hold indoor and outdoor clinics, and actually go out and observe us working. They do the USSSA fee as a service to the Nebraska USSSA UIC so he doesn't have to chase everyone down to collect it.

North Texas:

Registration for ASA: $20
Registration for USSSA: $40
Chapter fee: $15
Local Clinic Fee: $25 (Chapter "pays" half)

Calling ball in temperatures ranging from 40-110: Priceless.

East Texas:
Registration Fee: $25.00
Chapter: $15.00
AFA: $30.00
USSSA: $25.00
NSA: Nothing, just call'em
NFSA: Nothing yet
I always pay ASA registration, however, I don't call
that many ASA games, since our area is mostly AFA, NSA,
USSSA, with NFSA gathering strength. To much travel
for me to do ASA league games and they and AFA seem to
check each others schedules and see who can draw the
most & better teams. I have done ASA State three years
running, all in different age groups.
