What do we as umpires do for pre-season training/conditioning?
Since season never ends in this are, just keep active. I jog and use my crossbow.. "Rules knowledge?" Read the rule book for association you are working, and check this board out regularly. glen

For preseason conditioning, ASA recommends excercises designed to strengthen the legs, such as jogging, running in place, deep knee bends...etc. They also recommend a regimen of calisthenics to work your back and leg muscles to prepare you for the many hours behind the plate.
As to rules knowledge, glen made some excellent suggestions.
