chest protector
Need some advice/suggestions.
I have a chest protector that I use for high school baseball. But I find it's too bulky for high school softball. I would like to get something a little less bulky and probably smaller. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. |

Not shilling for Honig's but....https://honigs.com/honig-s-elite-fas...protector.html
These were off the market for some time. I have had mine for almost ten years. I might buy one next week just as a backup/futureproofing.

How does it get more bulky when you change sports?

Ive been hit enough times below where that honigs elite covers that I wouldn't even think about wearing one. Ill take the little additional bulk to have some extra padding down around my mid section.
Had a partner in a high school game that wore that honigs elite. I was familiar with the ones teams pitcher and catcher. Pitcher threw mid 60's, not very accurate and the catcher was a lefty that was marginal. My partner was putting on his chest protect and I asked him if he was familiar with this team. He said no. I told him he might want to bulk up a little and he was welcome to borrow my chest protector if he wanted. Nope, said he would be fine. First pitch of the game, lefty slapper. Ball is high and inside, catcher never puts a glove on it and catches him just below the pad on the chest protector on the right side of his chest. He stumbled back against the backstop and stood there gasping for air for a good 5 minutes. Asked him again if he wanted me to go get him my chest protector. Nope, and spent the rest of the game hiding behind the catcher. |

Ah, the bra, LOL! You could not pay me enough to wear it. But different strokes for different folks. Junior wears a West Vest Platinum for both baseball and softball. Recently he was told that he should get a smaller protector for college softball. His response: "Nope, I am fine." MTD, Sr.

Having just taken a foul ball off my left shoulder and another right at the heart,
I'll stick with my very comfortable Champion P235.

https://www.gerrydavis.com/product/B...or.html?cid=17 I also bought the Adams low profile protector that is nothing more than a compression shirt with removable foam pads. But I took a hit near the shoulder last year, and I haven't put it on since. Others who have one swear by it. https://www.baseballmonkey.com/adams...8aAh1REALw_wcB
