I've been very happy with my Gerry Davishield protector. I've been using it for about eight years now, and have taken some pretty impressive shots from DI pitchers, and barely felt it.

I also bought the Adams low profile protector that is nothing more than a compression shirt with removable foam pads. But I took a hit near the shoulder last year, and I haven't put it on since. Others who have one swear by it.
