Protective gear product recommendation: Field tested!

This is going to read like an ad, but it's not. If anyone is refreshing their gear this season and is considering upgrading their cup, I can whole-heartedly recommend the Shock Doctor. https://www.amazon.com/Shock-Doctor-.../dp/B009A0FFYC This cup is like a giant steel soup bowl, but it does a hell of a job protecting your beans.

In my opinion it is as good or better than the Nutty Buddy. I took a direct shot yesterday from a pitcher who throws low to mid 60's and quite literally did not feel a thing. You know it's a solid shot when the coach that has been riding you like a rented mule all game suddenly wants to know if you are OK. The only clue I had that I had just been hit in the crotch was a bit of burning where the cup gel cushion pinched my inside thigh against the ball. A+, would take one in the pills again.

I took a direct hit in the cup last year from a hard throwing 15 year old. I was surprised it did not hurt. When i undressed i found my cup was in 3 pieces.

There are some on this forum who would glue them back together.

I bought a Nutty Buddy last year, and was really impressed me how comfortable it was....no chance, thank God, to 'test it out'....
