I agree that there is a difference between hiding and not knowing. Unfortuantly the "book" doesn't allow for that.

I like it. The only bad thing about it is that should be everything that a good and dedicated score and time keeper should know!!!

Re: Brian
Tim, I disagree with what you said above. According to the rule book all 5 players must return to the floor at about the same time. The 5th player can't sit on the bench for 30 seconds then sprint...

Re: Re: 5th player must wait
Right if A5 waits until the ball becomes dead or the coach calls a timeout he can enter with no penalty. I don't inderstand what you mean by "I still don't see a sub" though.

Ok,
In the case book on 10.1.9 It says "Following a charged timeout Team B is still with their coach on the sideline when the official sounds the whistle to indicate play will resume. 4 players...

I my "spare" time I am an clock keeper at a high school. It was their policy that anyone that wanted to be an official book or official timekeeper had to pass the officials exam. I like it because...

Position on a Time-out
Here is something that the Oklahoma Association started this year. On a time out you place the ball where the throw in is at and each official goes to the top of the key. After the 45 second horn...

Re: 4 players
This is what a local supervisor told me. The ball should not be put in play with only 4 on the floor. If the ball becomes live and the 5th player runs on the floor the ball is whistled dead and a T...

In Oklahoma we have no shot clock and use 2 man crew for JV and HS. I know in classes A, B, 2A, 3A and 4A we use a 2 man crew for the state playoffs. In 5A & 6A I don't know what they use. Most of...

I do use a verbal count for 6th 7th and 8th grade games. However I don't use them for 9th - 12th. If they aren't smart enough to count my arm swings then rain on them!!!!
