Glasses

I sometimes use reading glasses to be able to clearly see small writing within 1-2 ft from my eyes. My vision past that is excellent. Is it a bad idea to keep reading glasses in my pocket so I can easily read my card where I have to record fouls, timeouts and other items?

Same situation for me. At one point I tried a pair of safety glasses with a bifocal magnifier on a 'croakie'.

You can try that but I found it to be inconvenient. I just write BIG on my card

I had the same issue. I went to no-line bifocal glasses. The only issue I have is when it is raining.

I tried the safety readers briefly. Problem is they looked like safety glasses.

I've worked with many officials who've done this and don't see an issue with it. I've never heard anybody criticize them for it either.

Most people understand what reading glasses are. Any coach who comments could simply be reminded that he's going to be getting older as well.

I was thinking a more snarky response of suggesting to the coach that perhaps his proctologist needs to prescribe him a pair.

Save that one for after you move.

I think this season would be perfect for me. What are they going to do, ask me not to come back?

I quit using the preprinted cards due to this. Now I take one of the old hard cards and cover it with athletic tape each game and make my own card that is large enough to read and have only the information on it that I want. After each game I carefully take off the tape and put it adhesive to adhesive and maintain my card until the season is over.
