Probably should be called more now that everyone is running spread formations. Lots of slots off the ball yet still not deeper than deepest lineman.

I've always found illegal formation calls to be exciting! It's one of those times when the announcer gets to use his "illegal procedure" announcement.

Instead of enjoying it, I'd probably allow the play to complete (in an 8th grade game) and have a quiet talk-to with the coach between plays.

I was thinking the same thing Rich. Not sure about the excitement level for any foul in middle school ball.
