Referee vitriol needs a timeout

A FEW POINTS THAT I believe to be true following the recent spate of gaffs by SEC football officials:

About time someone wrote such an article.

I made the mistake of reading the comments at the bottom of this very good article. Just when I thought someone was able to very ably educate people on the role of officials in the outcome of a game. Some people just can't be educated. Apparently this isn't a very well respected writer.

I do agree with one of the comments...the SEC has the best officials in college football? I think some of us would beg to differ.

Indeed. I may or may not be a lot of things (blind, dumb, etc.), but one thing I'm not is a cheat.

It's sad enough that many of these tools obviously know nothing about football, but even worse is that many of them are incapable of putting together complete thoughts in English.

Consider the source of the comments. Usually, the "idiots" are the partisan fans.
