In Fed rules, the ankle monitor must be covered. So, under a sock would be sufficient. No note is required.

Seriously? Under what article and section are ankle monitors covered?

In NC, if the kid is wearing it due to the commission of a felony, he's not going to be playing anyway. As for misdemeanor's, I can't recall if the state has a policy regarding student participation or if it is up to the local district.

Are you sure that wasn't Shawne Merriman that you were talking about?

Working in Omaha, I've seen quite a few kids with these on. We've followed 1-3 d and e, just have them pad it up. Some of the kids would not only have it padded, but wear two or three socks over it. What shocked the hell out of me once, when working a JV game, one defense had half the players wearing an ankle monitor. YIKES!

I'm not sure, but I know that starting this year, the parole officer must be out of the restricted area when the ball is live.
