Multiple Fouls...

WH question...

2 plays

1. A8 lines up at TE on the LOS on the right side, and then A83 lines up on the LOS at split end on the right side making A8 inelligible. A8 catches a pass 8 yards downfield. We've got inelligible downfield and illegal touching. Do you signal both fouls or just the obvious choice of illegal touching?

2. During a punt return R45 holds at R20 and then later R62 blocks below the waist at K45. Obviously K will choose the holding penalty. Do you signal fouls in the order of occurence, or do you signal the declined penalty first and then the accepted penalty?

Interesting: On play 1 the announcer said that the Illegal touching signal was a Personal Foul. He also said at some point when a punt rolled into the end zone that it was a touchdown. (I love high school announcers)

I recommend:

First, waive off all fouls where the flag was "picked up".
Then signal the declined fouls.
Next is offsetting fouls.
Last are accepted fouls.

You signal both fouls, with the one that will be declined first and the 2nd and you make sure you verbalize it well.
