NFHS Part II test
Last week I took Part II test to advance my classifaction with our state association.
Anyway, one of the first five questions had to do with MRSA, and what the coaches responsibilities were when there has been a confirmed case. The wording of the question sounded true, and, because I am not a coach and such things do not concern me regarding my job as an official, answered accordingly. Upon looking it up in the rule book, found out I was wrong Now, my beef is not that I got the question wrong, it's about the fact it was on the test to begin with. Is that a legit question? cheers, tro |

Sure, "points of emphasis" is part of the rule book
The header for the first eight Part II questions does say, Rule changes, Editorial Changes and Points of Emphasis for 2008. They pretty much do that every year. Makes you get into the book and read it cover to cover. I'm not justifying what they do, but looks to me to be fair game. |

The answer actually is True. If you look at the Points of Emphasis on page 84 it states under Coaches, Certified Athletic Trainers, and Other Personnel:
If an infection has occurred in a team member, check other athletes daily before practice. |

Is it Legit? Yes.
Is it appropriate for an official exam? You already know the answer to that. Mregor
