Offensive Dead Ball Fouls (NCAA Rules)

Does anybody have a list of all the offensive dead ball fouls that will cause the ball to become dead before or after the snap on a scrimmage down? (This is for NCAA rules only) Thx!

CANADIAN RULING:

1. Illegal Procedure
2. Illegal Equipment (new for 2008)
3. Objectionable Conduct
4. Unnecessary Roughness
5. Rough Play

5) A scrimmage kick made beyond the neutral zone is a live ball foul that causes the ball to become dead.



While on the subject of kicks, what about using a kicking tee on a scrimmage kick in NCAA? I must confess, I wouldn't be 100% sure on how to deal with this. Do I blow it dead and march off 5 yds as soon as I see the tee, or do I let them kick it first?

The ball is never "live" in the situations you listed so it cannot be come "dead". Are you looking for violations that are fouls while the ball is dead and which prevent the ball from becoming live? Or are you looking for fouls that occur while the ball is live and which cause the ball to become immediately dead?

Use preventive officiating and "encourage" them NOT to use the tee. If they continue, then you let them go and flag once they do it. 5 yards previous spot for the live-ball foul
