Why are we propagating this?

With all due respect I 100% disagree with us fellow officials propagating this information on the public internet for other brother officials to see. Please leave that crap to Yahoo and the other "yahoo's" out there who wish to air one's dirty laundry. People get off on publishing that kind of stuff. It does me NOTHING to even know this and I'm not a better official because I now know this. And frankly, it's none of my business.

I feel I'm a better official for belonging to this forum as I continuously contribute and pick the brains of others so I can learn (and others learn from me) about topics pertaining to how we officiate football games, interpret rules, etc. But knowing personal information about brethren in stripes....what does that do for me? Nothing!

Well it does us no good when fellow officials are in hock to casinos. If we can't assure the ticket buying public that the game is in the hands of impartial and competent officials whose integrity is beyond reproach then we have a game with no future.

Wasn't it YOU who once complained about "heaping all officials into the sewer" when it was stated that fans and the media may start questioning the integrity of officials following the Tim Donaghy scandal?

Well, thanks for heaping all officials into the sewer with the NBA.
But it would be wise to present some facts, first.
Of the most recent threads you've started you've complained about Stephen Pamon at least 3 times, you've complained about instant replay and overturned rulings, complained about Bruce Froemming and complained about baseball games being played in the rain.

Other than a bunch of whining what exactly are you contributing?

Thanks for putting the quote into context which, of course, is the obvious offshoot of officials being tied to any kind of gambling. Those who refuse to see the connection to questions about integrity and want to only discuss mehanics, etc, miss the forest for the trees.

I never complained about Pamon; my posts about his trouble were about the lack of background checks by the Big Ten.

My criticism of instant replay is about the inability of a system that was supposed to correct mistakes but cannot.

I don't remember criticizing Froemming for anything....but this forum is full of those who do.

As for playing baseball games in the rain I will never stop complaining about that.

There is an ignore feature if you find my posts objectionable.
