SD-Buffalo holding enforcement

SD missed a field goal and was flagged for holding. Buffalo got the ball at the spot of the kick plus got 10 yards tacked on for the holding. I don't think I've ever seen that before.

Strange rules in the NFL sometimes.

PS- it just happened again in the SEA @ DEN game!

Yup - a new rule this year according to Al Michaels. Mike Holmgren used to be on the competition committee, and apparantly asked Scott Green about this enforecement during a timeout. Since this is Mike H's first year not on the committee, according to Al Michaels, he thought that the crew messed up the penalty application.
