Salaries of coaches
Being in Austin, I've been perusing the Austin paper. There was an interesting front-page article about the gap between the salaries of coaches and teachers. Here's the link:

Some of the salary information is a little misleading. Not that they don't earn more, but in reality, they end up earning a LOT more. Certain school districts don't charge the coaches for the use of their facilities during the summer for camps and stuff. What college coaches have been making a bundle on for years, high school coaches across all sports (especially football and basketball) are now doing well with.
The article mentions Todd Dodge at Southlake making just over 90K. I'd be surprised if he didn't make at least 30K (gross) in addition to that in other stuff. |
