When does a player become a substitute? 1. As soon as he crosses the out of bounds line in front of the team box 2. After he goes past the numbers. 3. When he enters the huddle.

You sure you're asking about becoming a substitute? Maybe you mean ceasing to be a substitute & becoming a player.
