Let's talk about Gene Steretore. The guy is a Big Ten fixture. Every other major conference game, he's assigned. I follow WI. Wisconsin/Duke? Check. Wisconsin/Ohio State? Check. I didn't go back to last year, but I know that he got most of the big assignments unless they happened to fall on Saturdays and Sundays during football season.

And this is why I am surprised that his NCAA footprint is so meager. Last year he got a first four game. This year he got a round of 64 game: Virginia/Belmont (no offense, but whoop 'de do). And that's it. Didn't even get assigned past Friday.

The guy has impeccable mechanics and he's a game management wizard.

So why John Adams no seem to respect him very much?

He's not the greatest play caller but coaches love him which is why he will continue to get games, but not necessarily advance far in the tournament.
