Should have been a foul.

at the end of regulation, with about 12 seconds I think there is another one. The UM player drove and I thought the ref was going to call a charge. He nearly tripped over himself making the ball but then called it on the D. They didn't show the reply so I'm not sure about the play.

And yes Jay B, I agree the replay system is a complete joke and needs to be changed. Five minutes for something that should have been dealt with right away.

1: That's a block if anything.

2: Not sure why we're discussing this. That's an automatic foul by the book.

Maybe because college officials have been very wishy-washy calling the "automatic" fouls when it comes to conference play?

#1. Block. Had LGP. Lost LGP when dribbler changed direction. Tried to get it back but didn't before contact. Shooter then traveled before getting the shot off.

#2. Agree...armbar foul.

Should be a block, I'm ok with no call, but CERTAINLY no basket like Cameron said!

For the second video. When I saw that live I thought the ref at first was going to call a charging which is what the Wisconsin coach thought it was. They didn't show the replay of it and after seeing it here in slow-motion I'm just not seeing a foul by the D. Yeah the arm is out a bit but I don't see it extended but whatever, I don't really disagree with it mainly because-
The UM player had two shots and at the time I must have thought it was a shooting foul rather than double bonus. But here you can see the foul was called before the shot, after you could possibly argue the offensive player committed a foul.

This.

I hate that this travel is so rarely called. It's obvious, even at live speed, when the offensive player has gathered the ball. Then ensuing travel should be just as easy to call. Too much of the NBA rules have crept into college officiating and then into HS officiating.

SEVERAL times this week I had coaches question my travel calls on similar plays (Euro-steps with an early gather), and each time they said "BUT WE PRACTICE THAT EXACT PLAY/MOVE!"

1) I have a travel. But I can live with either a PC or Block (non-shooting, prior to upward motion) as long as it is intelligently explained.

2) Easy defensive foul. He got it right, and it was obvious. What is there to talk about?
