Pre-game tech for no handshake?

After Maryland captains flagged for unsportsmanlike for not shaking hands with Penn State captains in Saturday's football pre-game, wondering if the same is possible with hoops.

Never heard of it so wondering if anything even similar holds true for basketball (fed or college), and simply if any listers have encountered a similar snub during pre-game meeting. If so, how'd you handle?

Is there a rule requiring players or coaches to shake hands before the game? That should answer your question.

Never seen it, and if I did, I wouldn't be calling anything.

I might, however, pay a bit more attention to the knuckleheads.

Registered basketball games are taken by all Participants to be very competitive events;however, it is common to observe superficial salutations prior to tap. When I observe teams that are more grim faced and ready to play than to salutate, then I do not suggest / compel it, I tip it off quick.

We could flag them for unsporting conduct. Wait? I'm being told ... No flags in basketball? How about yellow cards? No? Never mind.

Give the "delayed dead ball" signal and then, if all runners and the batter-runner did not safely advance at least one base, adjust the runners as required.

ALTERNATE JOKE: two minutes for unsportsmanlike and a 10 minute misconduct.
