Peach baskets?
I can't find any specific information as to when the bottoms were taken off the peach baskets. The reason I got interested in this was that I was watching a TV show - "The Artful Detective" and they showed a women's basketball team practicing. One of the women dribbled, then made a two handed set shot that went through a peach basket. There was no bottom on the basket. The show takes place in the year 1900. I thought the bottoms came off after that. Anybody have any accurate info?
BTW - the show takes place in Toronto and is made by a Canadian production company. It's actually a police detective show and it is excellent. If fact, it's one of the best detective series I've ever watched in my over 50 years of watching television. It's on the Ovation cable network.

To be honest, I do not remember reading in any official NBCUSC, NFHS, or NCAA publication that addresses this. But I Googled it, and the best information I have been able to find on the internet is inconclusive. The amazing thing is that the Basketball Hall of Fame's website does not answer this question. It appears that around 1893, metal rims were starting to be used and that peach baskets were finally put to rest around 1906. Since this information comes from various websites whose authenticity cannot be confirmed I would not bet the house on the information I have just posted. MTD, Sr.

Remember The Bug From Men In Black ???
What? Vincent D'Onofrio was great, and Kathryn Erbe was as "cute as a button".

Bill: I agree that D'Onofrio was great and Erbe was as "cute as a button". But just never cared for Criminal Intent as I did the "original" and SVU. MTD, Sr.

Hut, hut
Shouldn't discussions about criminal intent and SVU be saved for the NFL football thread
