It's instinct. Just like my free range chickens that go back to the coop every night when it starts to get dark. I don't have to call them, the just do it.

Yep, those refs have 'em trained well. Just one of my pet peeves.

Or their coaches! I have never insisted on players getting that far back but I have heard coaches (especially in youth leagues) tell them that. And, that works for me. I dont care how far back they go as long as they go...
