Foul. A2 stops and jumps from where she is trying to catch the pass and B1 runs into her. To me this is an easy one.

Looks like a foul on Red to me. The White team player is not wholly vertical but red is running towards her initiates the contact. Kind of like finding fault in an auto accident, they both are guilty but Red shares a larger amount of the blame IMO.

That said, I could live with a no call here.

Foul on the defender. The white player is jumping in her vertical space and red comes in an bumps her out of the way.

Good call by the officials and certainly not incidental.

Peace

foul (by defense). Contact was severe and the defender was not in an equally favorable position with the offensive player.

Foul on red 100 out of 100 times. This is not a case of equally advantageous positions.

While neither was without fault, I agree with a foul on red.

I have to admit, since I started up again this is the call I have the most trouble with. Two players going for the ball and neither without fault...a play where the level of contact dictates you HAVE to have a whistle but on who. Until I get back into a better groove, see more, pick the brain of better officials, etc. I have just been giving the benefit of the doubt to the offensive player.

At least that way only one coach and half the gym is hissed off at me.

The level of contact does not dictate whether or not you have to have a foul. Do not adopt this as a philosophy for identifying fouls. There can be all kinds of plays with severe contact between two players that do not require foul calls.
