memorizing switching

I'm a new basketball official. Two man switching doesn't seem that difficult, but in both two and 3 man, how do you remember the switching sequences?

Muscle memory.

In two-man, you always switch. So, if you were at the "north" end of the court, you will now be at the "south" end.

In three man, you always go table side. whoever was there goes where you were. then all adjust to be in the proper spot for the throw-in.

Some exceptions (long switches, FTs) to the above and, of course, your area might vary.

It's easier to do than to explain.

It is like anything else in life, you do something enough you remember what to do, whether it is typing, driving, playing a video game or using a TV remote control.

Peace

practice... practice... practice. People can tell me what to do until they're blue in the face, but until I actually do it then I won't get it.

The easiest way to explain most 3 man switches is: replace the person that replaces you (if you aren't the calling official, of course).
