But gee, shouldn't we call everything we see in order to "get the call right?"

Could the C say something to James Harden on his way to pick up the ball such as "don't do that again" or should he just let it go?

I wouldn't, but I'd be having a good chat with the L in the locker room.

I'd need the time to utilize my professional filters.

Hard to tell on my little screen, but is that Bavetta in the L??

If so, that would be an interesting conversation to eavesdrop on!

Dick Bavetta at the lead, Marc Davis in the slot

Well, I'd argue that you actually have to see it before that could be discussed.

A friend and fellow official, one of the highly-rated NF officials in our area, works for the NBA, and evaluates every game played by our local team. His notes are reviewed by, and his questions are responded to, by each officiating crew, as part of their post-game. His notes deal with who called/no-called what, from which position, at what time, with video refernce of the game. I understand that is the procedure for each NBA team.

I was referring to Adam's statement that he would have a good chat with the Lead, Dick Bavetta, in the locker room, and to the probability that this play, in the officials' video review of the game, would require a response.

Well, it would have helped to quote Adam's post rather than mine in that case. It would have made a whole lot more sense.

I wasn't very clear. I would, in one of my games, have a chat with the calling official to find out what he saw.

If I was working with Bavetta, I wouldn't worry about it because I'd assume he saw something I missed.

In this situation, in the NBA, I wouldn't worry about it because I'd know there would be a review later anyway. No point in either a) piling on, or b) putting my foot in my mouth.
