I fail to see your point. The vast majority of college sports programs are serious money drains...they give scholarships yet provide next to zero revenue. Only a hand full of big-time programs make up the difference. Further, one of the largest college sports scandals took place back in the '50s - you know, during that time when "we had colleges".
