Only the last portion of the first statement is true as far as what cannot be called.

FSG, what's your point?
I had a coach erupt on me because I had a player ( 5'2" tall,) dribble into the lane, get trapped, ( by 3 players on the defense that were 6' tall ) try to pass the ball out of the lane, finally passed the ball out and had a hard time getting out of the lane due to the 3 defensive players. Coach wanted 3 seconds, I passed on it, no advantage in my opinion in calling that. He went to my former interpreter and my interpreter came to me and said I HAVE to make that call. 3 seconds is 3 seconds no exception. Last edited by Terrapins Fan; Wed Feb 20, 2013 at 05:07pm. |

IIRC, #1 used to be true (there was once an exception for an interrupted dribble) but the rule was changed to only depend on team control in the frontcourt.
