This is a correctable error under NBA rules.

My understanding is that this is perfectly legal as long as the 6th waits until the goaltender is within 5 feet of the bench before entering the game.

Interesting. According to the article, this essentially becomes a do-over. Re-set the game and shot clocks and wipe out all the action that occurred with 6 men on the court.
Is that really how it's handled? Is there an exception for flagrant or technical fouls that occur while 6 are participating? |
