Question Throw in from endline goes in w/3 seconds.

Whats the call? Tell you what the crew did if you're right.

Violation.

ART. 7

The thrown ball shall not enter the basket before it touches or is touched by another player.

Throw in violation. Opposing team throw in at the original spot. And no time should have come off the clock. Now, what did the original crew do?

Why not tell us even if we are wrong? It could be educational.

Is this a test or something? Do you really think we don't know this simple rule?

Wow. I may have just relearned something.

Maybe you guys are missing that this happened with 3 seconds left. (I assume that's what the OP meant)

I'm not sure what, but it seems important to the OP since he put it in his thread title.

Agreed, it must be important, somehow. Reading the title, I assumed the clock was stopped with 3 seconds, and apparently others did also. But obviously, this is not necessarily the case.

It doesn't really matter. If it happened as stated with the ball "goes in w/3 seconds", the clock, if running, should stop at that point due to the violation. The resulting timing on the clock should be no different if it had not been a running clock.

Plus, the only way it could have gone in with a running clock would be if it had been a full court throw from the far endline. I suppose that could happen. The bigger discussion in that case would be the fact that it went in at all.

Right. I should have said the OP seems to think it is important, for some reason.
