Another T or no T

Varsity coach sitting on JV bench to official during timeout: "Are you reffing the next game?"

Official: "No."

Coach: "Thank GOD!"

I would pop him. He is an Asst. coach if he is seated on the bench during a game. Would you let an Asst. say this to you?

Whack him. Blatantly personal. We would never be expected to say something like this to a coach, so they aren't getting away with it either, especially as an assistant.

I now know that I will not answer this question in the future as it could be trap.

In your situation I have no problem with a T. Also have no problem if an official decided not to 'T'.

T. Every time. More bothered that you had to ask, really. This one should be automatic.

LOL. I'm so sorry you're so bothered.

Thanks for the input. I personally would T it up, but I'm also with twocentsworth and BadNewsRef. I'm not going to lose sleep over someone else not tagging this one.

Maybe he's not an assistant coach, but he's certainly bench personnel, so "pop" him for that.

A few seasons ago I worked a regional final at a school outside of my area. The home team was a defending state champion and of course had never seen me before.

After a couple calls he didn't like the home coach started to ask me a question, "You do realize..." I cut him off right there and said "Don't ask me a question that's going to get you in trouble". I could see the wheels spinning as he considered whether or not to continue but he thought better of it and turned away.

Honestly, I'm not sure what I would have done had he finished the question.
