At game site and debate on whether a coach can call 3 consecutive time outs?

Shouldn't be much debate...there's only one time period where a coach can not called successive timeouts...5-11-7

Yes, he can as long as it's not after time has expired for regulation or an overtime.

Is there something you have read that makes you think it's illegal?

No..was watching BV Tourney and the HC called 3 successive timeouts to Ice the shooter. Game was tied with .4 secs left

The 3 vets I was sitting with started to debate the allowance of 3 successive timeouts with one suggestion a Tech should have been handed out.

Myths because I just read the rule and pretty clear to me that allowed to happen.

Thanks for QUICK response

Legal.

The rules say that at least one of the timeouts would have to be a full timeout.

Interesting strategy. The same strategy would have went through my mind if I was officiating this game, or if I was back in my coaching days.

What were the results of the free throws and of the game?

Only way to have a Technical Foul is if the team called an excessive timeout in that sequence.
