Team Control Foul

This might be a case of over thinking or not using my noggin, but here goes..

According to 4.19.7..Team Control Foul is a Common Foul.......

Is it possible for a flagrant or intentional foul to be committed by a player of the team that has team control?

Would the same penalties apply for a flagrant or intentional regardless if it occurs under a team control situation?

Of course it is possible, but it would not be a Team Control Foul by definition.

What if A2 just comes in and two hand pushes down an opponent hard to the floor without playing the ball or causing excessive contact? Yes is it a foul while A2 team is in team control, but the nature of the foul is not a regular or common foul. So if you call an intentional or flagrant foul in that situation, the penalty applies to intentional or flagrant based on how you adjudicate those fouls by rule.

Also keep in mind that none of the definition of intentional of flagrant fouls have nothing to do with who is in team control. Those are just foul designations if you call have the same application no matter who has the ball or not.

... and according to 4-19-2 (note the dashes, Rookie), a common foul is a personal foul which is neither flagrant nor intentional.

That should answer your question.
