Question Foot soreness

I've developed a bit of an issue in my left foot - wondering if anybody else has had this...

I'm getting some soreness when I'm running (and afterward) on the top side of the ball of my foot, about an inch or two below my toes.

I've got good shoes that are fairly new, so it's not that.

Any idea what it might be?

Take it over to the Podiatric Medicine Forum.

Are you sure they are the "right" shoes? Cause it sounds to me like you are wearing a pair of shoes that maybe don't fit correctly and so when your foot flexes as you run, the shoe is creasing in the wrong spot and putting a lot of pressure on the top of your foot. Try working a few games in an older pair of shoes and see if the pain is still there.

That is what I was thinking.

This is definately true and a second issue may be, are you tying the shoes to tight? I've noticed with newer shoes that I need to loosen the laces a little bit until the shoe "streches" to fit the comformity of my foot.

Been there...

If your shoes are too tight, the others have hit the spot. I suffered from metatarsalgia two seasons ago... tendons in your foot become inflammed, REALLY painful to walk... only treatment is rest and anti-inflammatories...
