Another video request

It's getting too quiet around here. Let's see if we can create a block/charge talking point...

APG, Game 7, 10:19 left in the 3rd, blocking foul on Battier. Can you provide, sir?

NBA: Blocking Foul
NFHS/NCAA: I think it's close, but I think it's a charge.

Block

I have a block. I don't feel Battier established/obtained LGP before Pierce went airborne. It doesn't look like he ever got two feet on the floor while he was facing Pierce.

In my high school game, player control foul.

In real time, I was amazed it wasn't a charge. I agree it woulda been a PC in high school.

Really? I think in real time, under NBA rules, I would have been more shocked if it was called a charge...especially when we get a view from the baseline camera.

Agreed. That play looks very different from the baseline camera than it does from the other views.

Charge. Good defense. Anticipated the play. Beat him to the spot.

Agreed...I was thinking charge all the way from sideline view.

Once I saw the endline view, I immediately switched to block. He never made it entirely in front of him and was still sliding sideways into his path at the time of contact.

It is all about having the right angle.

Both feet on the floor before any contact, and before Pierce became airborne:

Cool, but given how close it is - with Battier's right foot not settling until Pierce has a toe on the floor - I can see how this was called a block.

I have a block real time, confirmed in super slow mo.

More importantly, I love how the L position adjusts in this play to have a better angle than we had.
