NBA rules are pretty much the same for goaltending/basket interference except for a few circumstances (e.g. There can be BI on a throw-in that's touched above cylinder under NFHS rules...not so under NBA rules).

Also JMF, for completeness sake, (a) should read:

a. Touch the ball or the basket ring when the ball is using the basket ring as its lower base or hang on the rim while the ball is passing through.

from the trajectory of the ball, it looks as if Barnes does not touch the ball, just the rim. Which by rule in the NBA is NOT BI in this situation.

CC imo. but hey what do I know!

Hanging on the rim while the ball passes through isn't BI in the NBA?

I had to go back and look, but Barnes was not hanging on the rim. Touching the rim yes, but touching the rim is not necessarily BI at other levels either.

Peace

Went back and watched it again, you're right. I was thinking he pulled the rim down, but he just touches it.

As far as BI goes, touching is equivalent to hanging/grabbing at both NCAA and NFHS.

If he was in contact with the rim when the ball was on or in the basket, it is BI regardless of how or why he touched the rim (dunk exception noted).
