Back Court Phx / Hou
4:56 remaining in 3rd quarter. A1 - Phx throw in from there f/c. Ball goes thru A2's hands in f/c and A2 retrieves ball in the b/c. Back Court violation is called. Is this an NBE rule?

Not an NBE rule...but an NBA rule.
If the play occurred exactly as you described, it would be a backcourt violation (unless the defense deflected it).

Thx...yes it occurred exactly as described.

FYI, if this would have happened in the final two minute of the fourth quarter or overtime, then this play would be legal.
*Further clarification* This play will always be a backcourt violation now...regardless of time. If a team passes to a player in the frontcourt, and he "muffs" the pass into the backcourt, in the final two minutes of the 4th quarter or OT, it will still be a backcourt violation.
