Back Court Phx / Hou

4:56 remaining in 3rd quarter. A1 - Phx throw in from there f/c. Ball goes thru A2's hands in f/c and A2 retrieves ball in the b/c. Back Court violation is called. Is this an NBE rule?

Not an NBE rule...but an NBA rule.

If the play occurred exactly as you described, it would be a backcourt violation (unless the defense deflected it).

FYI, if this would have happened in the final two minute of the fourth quarter or overtime, then this play would be legal.

*Further clarification*

This play will always be a backcourt violation now...regardless of time. If a team passes to a player in the frontcourt, and he "muffs" the pass into the backcourt, in the final two minutes of the 4th quarter or OT, it will still be a backcourt violation.

Except if it a weekend game, nationally televised, and the score is within 10 points. Then it would be legal.....
