Regardless, I think the current interpretation handcuffs the officials too much -- mistakes happen and allowing the wrong team to complete a throw in shouldn't entitle that team to the ball. Since I'm not king, it really doesn't matter. I do know I've seen officials ignore the interpretation, though, stop play, and give the ball to the proper team. And I've *never* heard anyone complain. It may not be the right thing to do, but most people think it is. |
