I noticed that. I wonder if he thought about an offensive foul, but decided with the three seconds instead. If he was in the lane for the entire time the ball was in the front court, it was about five seconds before the violation was called. It wasn't until the ball was entered into the post that the violation was called, so I wonder if he "conveniently" went with the 3 seconds instead of a foul.

This is one of these things if you watch enough college basketball, I have seen this call several times but I am a junky like that. It does happen more than I see in HS games. Or let me say HS games with bigger veterans. It just does not happen because either they are talked out of this violation or they do not stay there from knowing better. But you will see this a few times over a season if you watch games back to back often. But then again I do not even pay attention to every game, but I was not surprised by the call either. On a side note I did find it a little quick, but the guy was stuck in the lane too.
Peace

it was called so quickly once the ball reached the frontcourt that I had to rewind the ole DVR to see....the player was in the lane for MAYBE 3.2 seconds....
it must have been called based on the same player NOT being called for it on a prior possession. |
