From a game management standpoint, hopefully the arrow was pointing the other way?

If not, I'm sure Team B would've prefered giving up an extra FT as opposed to the chance for a 4 or 5 point play.

It wasn't that big a deal; just told the coaches what the rule was, and they were both fine with it. It was an odd enough situation that I took a moment to explain it to them. It ended up being B's ball, but explaining the arrow is the rule would have soothed the issue if it went to A.

Why should that matter. If B wanted the best outcome, they wouldn't have violated. In that case, they'd get the ball AND keep the arrow.
