That's really the only complaint I ever really hear about OT; from the officials working the next game. It's the same as when the first game has 60 fouls.

That's just as bad. It's especially bad when we watch the 3rd quarter of the JV game and half of the fouls called were ones that shouldn't have been called.

And then the JV officials come in the locker room and complain how "bad" the teams were fouling each other.

Actually blowouts can be more pressure than a close game IMO. For one more things can get out of hand if you do not keep doing your job. Close games often have nothing to do with you or if shots are going in then you do not have much to do.

Peace

Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner

Just home from my game and I was thinking about this thread (how sad is that?)

Last years defending Division Champs against cellar dwellers and a traditionally badddd team...... 103-12

It was 37-4 after the first quarter and 57-10 at half.

JVB's team shows up in the gym just as its 99-12 and they were like and then they all got their cell phones and cameras out and took pictures of the scoreboard......

Nothing to see here.

Very true. Winning team decides to have a dunking contest. Losing team refuses to cooperate. Likely time for somebody to land on his head.

Yeah well that's all I have so as I tell the varsity officials waiting..."sorry".

I had a girls sophmore game last week at a gym where I definately have more OTs than anywhere else combined. I tell my partner this before the tip. Visitors have the ball inbounding under there own basket coming out of a time out. I say to my partner, "bet they dump it right over their line up to the big girl for an easy two." Sure enough. Short pass to the big girl who swishes to tie and send it to OT. I said to my partner, "I called that one."Fun game to officiate though.
