Around here...the player has to get a different jersey if blood is on their original jersey.

We don't allow blood on the jersey to simply be "cleaned up" anymore.

I learned over the last Fall season, that if a kid has blood on his jersey, his own spit will clean it. Apparently, something with the enzymes in the spit break down their own blood.

It was the first time I ever heard it and who knows the truth of it, I just found it pretty fascinating.
