Is saving the ball considered team possession
NCAA: B1 knocks the ball away from A1 and as the ball is about to go out of bounds B2 jumps in the air, grabs the ball with one hand and throws it back into the court. Team A goes and gets the ball. Is that throw by B2 enough to be considered team possession to reset the shot clock?
We had this happen last week and the officials had to huddle on this one. |

If B's actions were a "bat", then it was not posession, and no new shot clock. |

Yep....gotta split hairs on this one.....no way around it since you either reset it to one team's benefit or not reset it to the other team's benefit.

This is why we get paid bigger bucks to work those games.

Not really... its the judgment of the floor officials. Controlled save or a tip/tap/bat.
