I have the feeling that this thread may set a new record for length before it's over. Big:D

With Pedro going tonight?!?!? Are you kidding? He's healthier than he's been in 2 years. He's pitching better than he has all season! Could he lose? Of course. But could anybody really be nervous about our chances tonight? No way!

We still have a way to go before we catch the movie quote thread on the "General" forum. But I'm up for the challenge if you are. :)

Of course. A true Sox fan doesn't even consider getting nervous until they're up by 3 going into the 8th in the final game...

That's when you guys get some serious jitters going on.

Having once had the opportunity to stand on the exact spot where the ball "gets by Buckner" (ohhh...I can *still* hear him saying that!) I will forever be nervous!

Uh oh!

Tie it up with 2 out in the 9th. Win it with 2 out in the 12th-with the slowest catcher in the League beating out a bunt.

Hmmmmm-almost like they're cursed,isn't it?

Oakland 5
Bosux 4

Anybody nervous?:D

mdray Thu Oct 02, 2003 01:12pm

after last nite,

B K Kim - lefthanders hit him .227 and he hits them .400

dblref Fri Oct 03, 2003 05:24am

Bosox down 2-0. Me thinks the fat lady may be warming up the vocal chords. :D

ChuckElias Sat Oct 04, 2003 10:06am

Wow, not a good start. :( I was in Boston on Thrs and Fri. I was in Quincy market when Wakefield gave up the 3 runs in the first. I didn\'t understand taking Kim out with 2 outs in the 9th. Yeah, nobody has 100% confidence in him, but didn\'t we already try the "committee" experiment? And Wake is either good or real bad. And the knuckler just wasn\'t good in his start.

I don\'t think we\'re getting swept, tho. Back in Boston. Lowe is great at home and Lilly has never beaten the Sox in Boston. We should get this one. If we can get it back to Oakland, then we throw Pedro. . . You never know.
