This event occurred at the Loyola SuperSectional between Zion-Benton and Glenbrook North.

As clarification, the baloon was popped right after the ball was released on a free throw attempt. I don't think it had any effect on the shooter. The gym was extremely noisy anyway, and that added piece of noise from the opposite end of the gym was barely noticeable.

In my opinion the ref was trying to make a point, instead of just calling the game. Having said that I offer my kudos the the 3 officials. As it should be, it was the best officiated game I've seen all season. Just wish that it could all have been decided by the players.

Better yet Dan... What if some knucklehead is sitting near the floor blowing a Fox 40 causing the game to stop??? I agree it needs to be there...
Hey, every game I work has a knucklehead with a whistle!
